13th National
Printers Convention Scheduled on September 2007
The
holding of the 13th National Printers Convention was announced
by the Printing Industries Association of the Philippines (PIAP). The
affair will be held on September 17 to 20 at the Heritage Hotel in Pasay City.
The theme of the convention is “Globalization- It’s Effects and Challenges for
the Industry”.
The

Print Philippines ‘07
The
Printing Industries Association of the Philippines (PIAP) and the
Philippine Printing Technical Foundation (PPTF) will hold its Print
Philippines ’07 Exhibition on September 19-21, 2007 at the Philippine Trade
Training Center, Roxas Blvd., Pasay City.
The affair will be the third exhibition to be
jointly organized by both PIAP and PPTF. The event’s theme is “Creativity
Enhances Global Opportunity”. It’s main objective, according to PIAP
President Jose Agaton Sibal and PPTF President Benito Brizuela, is to
sustain the momentum of Print Philippines ’05 and ’06 towards expanding the
printing exhibition; thus showcasing of more products and services for local and
international participation and strengthening networks among printers and
suppliers in the Philippines and around the world.
Print Philippines has exhibited a good track
record and is considered as the largest printing exhibition in the country with
visitor registration averaging 9,000 per show.

Turns 40 Years Old, Inducts a Record 45 New Members
The Philippine Printing Technical
Foundation recently celebrated its 40th Founding Anniversary. The affair,
which was held on August 3 at the Manila Hotel, was attended by more than 400
guests and members. Gracing the affair were a delegation from the Printing
Industry Association of the Philippines (PIAP) led by Atty. Jose Agaton Sibal
and another delegation from the Printing Industry Association of Cagayan de Oro
(PIACO) led by Mr. Eduardo Embalsado. Also seen at the affair were FASALIP
President Jimmy Co and PIP President Henry Gaw. Past PPTF Presidents whose
presence were acknowledged at the affair were Mr. Bernie Paco, Mr. Tom Viray,
Mr. Fred Ileto, Ms. Lennie de Gracia, Mr. Joe Toh, Mr. Pol Maskarino, Mr.
Carlito Bacurin and Mr. George Lora.
The guest speaker for the evening was
Solicitor General Hon. Agnes VST Devanadera who spoke on the need for
Philippine Printers to band together and form consortiums, in order to meet the
demands of global competitiveness.
A highlight of the event was the induction of
a record breaking 45 new members. The list of new inductees included provincial
members from Cagayan de Oro City and Legaspi City.
The successful affair was sponsored by Ideal
Marketing and Manufacturing Corp., led by its president, Ms. Luningning Regala.

PIAP
Launches Print Excellence 2007
The Printing Industry Association of the
Philippines (PIAP) formally launched the Print Excellence 2007 printing
competition on June 30, 2007. The contest seeks to give recognition and honor to
print shops for their dedication in achieving the highest quality of printing.
The contest, which is held every year, is open to all PIAP members.
According to contest committee chairman
Leonardo de Jesus, the objectives of the competition are as follows:
1. To give due recognition to printing companies who have continuously exhibited
print excellence in a given print category.
2. To broaden and enhance the level of technique in printing and publishing and
to exchange technical know-how within the industries to enhance the level of
quality in the industry.
3. To demonstrate and show-case the excellent quality of Philippine made print
products.
4. To give companies the promotional opportunities which would help develop
extensive customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Winners will be announced during the 13th
National Printers Convention in September 2007.
Mindanao Printing 2007 Launched
MAI
(Market Access & Innovations) Management Philippines together with
Printing Industry Association of Davao, Inc. (PIADI) and Philippine
Printing Technical Foundation (PPTF) launched the upcoming Mindanao
PackProPlas/ Mindanao Bakery/ Mindanao Printing at the Tangerine Room of the
Mallberry Suites on May 25, 2007 at 3pm.
Mr. Abundio Quimosing, PIADI’s chairman of the
election committee delivered the Opening Remarks. MAI’s Marketing Director, Ms.
Angelica Andrea Barrios presented the event to the participants. The organizers
were grateful for the presence of Atty. Mary Anne Entaria, Cagayan de Oro’s City
Councilor to represent the City Mayor who had encouraged the participants to
help disseminate the information of the event. PPTF’s 1st Vice President,
Mr. Rolando Rocha, delivered the speech of Mr. Benito Brizuela, PPTF President.
Among

Copylandia
Office Systems Corporation, a leading provider of advanced copying and
printing solutions in the Philippines, hosted the 2nd General Membership
Meeting of the Printing Industries Association of the
Philippines (PIAP) on May 30, 2007 at the Garden Ballroom of EDSA
Shangri-la in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City. Shown at the left photo are new

The
PIAP event also coincided with Copylandia’s exhibit entitled “Awaken to
the Digital Era - A Printing and Document Solutions Show” held on May
29 and 30, also at the Garden Wing of EDSA Plaza Shangri-la. The exhibit
highlighted Copylandia’s wide array of document and printing solution machines
designed to help streamline printing operations, increase
profitability and corner a bigger share of the market.
During the 2-day event, visitors and
guests were invited to participate in 3 special seminars designed to guide them
in putting up their own digital printshop businesses, give them ideas on how to
increase business profitability through digital technologies and introduce them
to new methods on how to maintain customer loyalty via a cost-effective
membership management and loyalty programs.

A delegation of the Printing Industries Association of the Philippines (PIAP)
visited the Print China 07 Exhibition. The group of 27 PIAP members arrived in
Guangzhou on April 09, 2007 right after Easter Sunday. On the following day, the
group proceeded to the Guangdong International Exhibition Center (above photo) where the opening ceremonies for the
International Printing Technology Exhibition of China (Print China 07) was held.
On the third day, the group was back at the exhibition center in the morning.
This was followed by a plant tour in the afternoon and a laureate in the evening
hosted by Heildelberg.

MAN Ferrostaal AG has announced the change in name of its
Philippine company, Intergrafica Print and Pack Philippines, to MAN
Ferrostaal Philippines, Inc.. The Philippine office shall maintain the same
address and contact numbers, except for the email address, which is now
info.ph@manferrostaal.com.
According
to its website, Intergrafica Print and Pack merges into the new Equipment
Solutions business unit of MAN Ferrostaal AG. In this newly established field,
the company combines the worldwide machine industry and unifies several decades
of experience and skills, as well as being able to offer a broader range of
services. The relations to partners, i.e. clients and suppliers will not be
affected, as well as the supply and service spectrum. Through the consolidation
of the business unit MAN Ferrostaal is creating synergies in service skills and
is able to widen its service
competencies.
